E-commerce and print-industry requirements need specialist applications and an agreed integration scope.

Discuss industry applications

01

Navigate by the record or service the business needs to improve

The Braintree product catalogue brings together several kinds of technology. Some applications hold business transactions, some coordinate customer work, some provide the infrastructure and collaboration environment, and others extend a specific process. Starting with the record or service that needs improvement makes the catalogue easier to evaluate.

Business Central and enterprise Dynamics 365 applications address ERP requirements at different levels of process and organisational complexity. Customer-engagement applications organise sales, service, field and project work. Azure provides cloud and hybrid capabilities, while Microsoft 365 and Surface relate to the workplace and device environment. The appropriate combination depends on the work that must connect.

02

Compare a product, an extension and a service on different terms

A product supplies defined capabilities and licensing rights. An extension adds particular behaviour to a supported application. A Braintree service provides agreed assessment, implementation or operational work around those technologies. A complete proposal may include all three, but their responsibilities and costs should remain visible.

Industry applications and Braintree Pivot extensions can address requirements beyond the standard platform. Evaluate the exact process, supported versions, integration and update responsibility rather than treating every addition as interchangeable. A reporting need, an inventory-planning problem and a banking workflow may call for different products even when they all connect to the same ERP.

03

Use evidence to narrow the shortlist

Bring one representative process, the systems involved and the outcome users need. Compare products through that scenario, including the roles, information handoffs and exceptions. Establish where standard functionality fits and where configuration, integration or additional software is required.

Named customer stories and published Help material provide different kinds of evidence. A case explains a customer’s context and project; documentation reveals operational behaviour and prerequisites. Read them together when examining a shortlist. The proposed scope should then identify licensing, delivery, migration and ongoing ownership, with assumptions that the customer’s process and technical owners can inspect.

04

Catalogue routes and the questions they answer

Requirement

What to examine

Decision to make

ERP and operations

Transactions, financial controls, stock and organisational complexity.

Business Central or an enterprise Dynamics 365 application scope.

Customer-facing work

Sales, service, field jobs, projects and customer-data handoffs.

The application that owns each stage and the required integrations.

Platform and workplace

Hosting, identity, collaboration, devices and operations.

The technical foundation and responsibilities around the business service.

Extensions and industry products

A precise gap in a supported application or sector process.

Fit, compatibility, licensing and ownership of the added capability.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Practical questions.

▸

Should we choose the Microsoft product before scoping the work?

▸

Does every catalogue item include implementation?

▸

How should we compare two possible routes?

▸

Which evidence matters most before committing?
