Windows 11 Pro is included with the business models described. Intune, Microsoft 365, Copilot and extended service plans have separate licensing or commercial requirements. MICROSOFT PRODUCT CAPABILITIES
Make the device part of the managed workplace.
Surface for Business combines Microsoft device designs with features for organisational deployment and management. Model selection starts with the user’s applications and mobility, then adds the security, accessories, and support the business needs.
Business device options
Choose Surface Laptop or Surface Pro configurations around performance, screen size, portability, touch, and pen requirements.
Windows and hardware security
Use Windows 11 Pro, Windows Hello, and supported hardware security features as part of the organisation’s identity and endpoint controls.
Deployment and management
Connect supported devices to Windows Autopilot and Microsoft Intune for deployment, policies, and device management, with the required service licences.
Accessories and serviceability
Match keyboards, pens, docks, and power options to the exact model. Review repair options, replaceable components, and service coverage for the selected device.
Select hardware and services together
Intune, Microsoft 365, Copilot, and extended service options are separate product decisions. Confirm the complete configuration and local coverage instead of assuming every service comes with the device.
Put it to work with Braintree.
Braintree brings device procurement, configuration, enrolment, rollout, and the agreed support plan together. We help your IT team put a consistent fleet into users’ hands.

DEVICE LIFECYCLE
Think beyond the first day.
A device fleet needs a plan for deployment, servicing and replacement. Discuss the available repair options, warranty terms and who owns each step in your device lifecycle.
01
A fleet is a set of working requirements
A business fleet should be selected around the work people perform, not only a preferred device name. An employee who spends the day typing may favour a clamshell, while an employee annotating documents away from a desk may benefit from a tablet and detachable keyboard. Both still need the right applications, peripherals, access and support.
A role-based shortlist makes the comparison useful. Record the software each group uses, the screens and devices they connect, where they work and how they sign in. The final quote should name the exact model and configuration for each role. A Surface family page cannot establish that every processor, port or connectivity option is available in a local SKU.
02
What managed deployment actually needs
Microsoft documents Windows Autopilot as a way to provision and configure registered Surface devices through the organisation’s cloud management environment. The setup depends on registration, identity, management subscriptions, profiles, applications and a network connection. A device arriving in a sealed box does not by itself mean that the tenant is ready to configure it.
The buying process should therefore connect supply and deployment. The team needs to know who registers the device, which profile it receives and how the first user gets the required applications. An exception process is also needed for a replacement device, a failed initial setup or a user who cannot complete sign-in.
03
Operate the device after the first sign-in
Microsoft’s Surface Management Portal provides a management view within Intune for Intune-managed Surface devices. The broader operating model includes driver and firmware updates, device health, repair and support. The precise portal capability and access depend on the tenant and managed devices.
The fleet design should also address reassignment and end of use. When a device moves to another employee, the organisation needs an agreed way to protect business information and return it to a usable state. Purchase, rental, warranty and managed support are separate commercial decisions; none should be assumed simply because the device can be centrally managed.
04
Scope the complete workplace setup
Braintree can assemble the device, accessories and deployment requirements into a fleet proposal. The review should use the same requirements when comparing purchase and rental, so an apparent price difference does not hide a missing keyboard, dock, subscription or service.
Create role profiles with applications, mobility, input and peripheral requirements.
Validate processor-platform compatibility with required software and drivers.
Specify keyboards, pens, docks, chargers and accessibility accessories explicitly.
Confirm Autopilot registration, tenant readiness, Intune scope and first-use support.
Document available supply, warranty, support responsibilities and the selected commercial agreement.
