A chip built only for AI

The Snapdragon X2 build runs a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, a chip dedicated to AI alone. It sits apart from the processor, so a fanless 2-in-1 you can hold in one hand still runs AI cool and quiet.

TOPS is how much AI it runs

TOPS counts trillions of AI operations a second. A Copilot+ PC needs 40. This Pro runs 80 on Snapdragon X2, close to double the 45 of the last Pro, with up to 50 on the Intel Core Ultra build.

What is the new Surface Pro 12th Edition?

The Surface Pro 13-inch 12th Edition is Microsoft’s new flagship 2-in-1. The Snapdragon X2 version runs an 80 TOPS Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, close to double the 45 TOPS of the previous generation, with up to 15.5 hours of battery, an optional OLED display and optional 5G. An Intel Core Ultra Series 3 version runs up to 50 TOPS with Thunderbolt 4 and up to 17 hours of battery. Both are Copilot+ PCs. The 12th Edition is available in H2 2026. What is a Copilot+ PC?

A Copilot+ PC is a Windows 11 device with an on-device AI engine of at least 40 TOPS and 16GB of memory. That hardware runs AI features on the device itself, so they are fast and work without an internet connection. Every Snapdragon Surface Pro in this range clears the bar, from 45 TOPS up to 80 TOPS on the new 12th Edition.

What is the difference between the Snapdragon and Intel versions?

Snapdragon leads on AI and battery. The 12th Edition Snapdragon X2 runs 80 TOPS and the longest battery in the Pro line. Intel Core Ultra adds Thunderbolt 4 and the broadest x86 software compatibility, and the 12th Edition Intel offers up to 50 TOPS and up to 17 hours of battery. Choose Snapdragon for AI features and battery. Choose Intel for Thunderbolt and legacy software. Both are available from Braintree.

Can I rent a Surface Pro instead of buying it?

Yes. Every Surface Pro is available outright or on a Braintree HaaS monthly rental over a 24-month term. The cost lands as operating expense rather than a capital purchase, support and warranty are included, and the fleet refreshes on schedule. Current models price live on braintree.co.za/rentals.

Are the keyboard and pen included in the rental?

The Surface Pro keyboard and Slim Pen are priced separately on the Braintree quote, not bundled into the base device rental. We can add keyboards, pens and docks to a fleet agreement. Contact Braintree to build the bundle that fits your team.
